Service Description

The Blended American Heart Association (AHA) First Aid course teaches students how to treat choking, bloody noses, wounds, heart attacks, strokes, heat exhaustion, and more for victims of all ages. Life-threatening situations and First Aid are taught. Anybody wanting or needed to learn these abilities can take it. Skills presentation earns students a two-year Heartsaver® First Aid course completion card. Section 1, AHA online course Coursework on the American Heart Association website is emailed to students. Students pace themselves. The student prints the course completion certificate to give his/her Part 2 instructor. Part 1 should take 2 hours, although students can work on tiny chunks and finish the course over several days. Part 2, AHA-certified instructor-led skills practice Students demonstrate AED, Compressions, and Breathing. The student uses compressions, breathing, and AED in a rescue scenario. Adult, child, and infant talents. Choking follows. Part 2 should last 30–60 minutes depending on class style and student experience. Parts 1 and 2 complete the course.
